GUMRAI IMPACT GUIDE

Tap to read market impact

Use this with Actual / Forecast / Previous figures to understand which markets are usually supported or pressured.

Inflation / CPI / PCEHigher-than-forecast readings often support USD and pressure gold.+

When inflation prints above forecast, markets often price tighter or longer-lasting high rates. That can lift USD and pressure XAUUSD, while EURUSD/GBPUSD often soften and USDJPY may rise. A lower print can flip the reaction.

Jobs / NFP / UnemploymentStrong jobs can lift USD; weak jobs can support gold.+

A stronger NFP and lower unemployment can signal a resilient US economy, often supporting USD and weighing on gold through higher yields. Weak jobs or rising unemployment can raise rate-cut expectations, often helping gold and hurting USD.

Rates / FOMC / Fed SpeechHawkish tone pressures gold; dovish tone supports gold.+

If the Fed signals tighter policy, higher-for-longer rates, or slower cuts, USD often strengthens and gold often comes under pressure. A softer tone or more growth-risk language can support gold. Major USD pairs react strongly.

GDP / Retail Sales / PMIBetter growth data tends to support that country currency.+

Growth and activity data above forecast usually supports the related country currency, such as strong US data supporting USD or strong euro-area data supporting EUR. Always read it with inflation and rate expectations.

Gold / BTC / ETH sensitivityGold is sensitive to USD/yields; crypto to risk appetite.+

XAUUSD often struggles when USD and yields rise, and can benefit when USD weakens or uncertainty rises. BTC/ETH often trade with risk appetite: fear can trigger selling, while easier-rate expectations can help risk assets bounce.
